As I prepare to spend another Mother’s Day without my mother, I am reminded of so many wonderful things this time. This day has been a difficult one for me since 1985 when I lost my mother suddenly at Christmas. I am planning to go and spend the day with my son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Amanda. Amanda is celebrating her first Mother’s Day. On October 19, 2006, she gave birth to her daughter, my granddaughter, Charlotte Catherine. Plus my youngest son, Ryan, arranged to take off from work so he could accompany me. My father is home and healing after undergoing 2 major surgeries and being in the hospital for a month. In this world that seems to be tearing itself apart at the seams, I feel so blessed on this Mother’s Day. Now that I am 49 and my children are grown, for the first time in a long time, I cannot wait to celebrate this day with them. I want to wish every mother (or mother to be) a very happy Mother’s Day.
By the way, I thought I would share the necklace I designed for my daughter-in-law for her first Mother’s Day.
